  Thallus greyish green, thin, uneven, dull. Ascomata white, straight or curved, rarely branched, 1–3 mm long, 0.25–0.30 mm wide, with a conspicuous powdery thalline margin. Proper exciple laterally carbonised, hidden by the thalline margin. Hymenium 50–60 µm thick. Ascospores 8 per ascus, narrowly ellipsoidal, transversely locular to submuriform, 4–5 × 1–2-locular, 12–14 × 5–6 µm, I+ pale blue.
CHEMISTRY: Salazinic acid (major), norstictic acid (trace), protocetraric acid (trace).
     
  A widely distributed, tropical, corticolous species; uncommon in rainforest in north-eastern Qld. Also in Cuba, U.S.A., Guyana, Brazil, West Africa, Thailand and the Solomon Islands.
